Inmate Breaks Out Of Jail, Gets Busted Sneaking Back In With Contraband

A Tennessee inmate who was serving a 68-year prison sentence for aggravated kidnapping seemed to be in the clear after escaping from Morgan County Correctional Complex. He was missing for two days, but authorities caught a break when Robert Fusco tried to sneak back into the minimum security prison with contraband items. Fusco was found with drugs, tobacco, and cell phones when he was taken into custody.

Officials said that Fusco did not work alone and charged seven others, including two former correctional officers, in the scheme to bring illegal items into the prison to sell them on the black market to other inmates.

Fusco was charged with felony escape, felony conspiracy to escape and unlawful telecommunication device in a penal facility. He pleaded not guilty and has been transferred to a maximum security prison in the state.
