Broward Commissioners Discuss Sick Ship Heading Toward Port Everglades

Broward commissioners meeting at 10 this morning to discuss what to do about the Holland America cruise ship heading toward Port Everglades with four dead passengers, two who have tested positive for coronavirus and over a hundred others who have reported flu-like symptoms. Authorities have not yet confirmed the 4 dead aboard the Zaandam had COVID-19. Broward Mayor Dale Holness says he has no clue how this will shake out, but one thing is certain. Governor Ron DeSantis suggests treating them on the ship. Ft. Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis says the Coast Guard and Homeland Security should find a Navy base where passengers can be dealt with in a more controlled environment.
