Palm Beach County Schools Reopen Playgrounds & Stop Outdoor Mask Wearing

Playgrounds will reopen this week at Palm Beach County public schools and the school district will make it clear to administrators at each school that children will not need to wear masks while engaging in outdoor activities.

While there has been no official school district policy to require face coverings outdoors, many schools were making kids wear them.

School Board member Barbara McQuinn says a PE teacher at one north-county school was requiring masks be worn by students as they ran track.

A large group of parents have been complaining about the district's mask policy and plans to protest outside school district headquarters in West Palm Beach on Friday.

For now, masks are still required inside schools.
