Boat Thief Busted in Botched Dress-Up Escape Attempt

Lakeport, FL - A boat theft suspect in Florida was arrested after a failed escape attempt where he disguised himself as a woman.

Glades County deputies arrested 33-year-old Joshua Kolotka after deputies investigating a recovered stolen boat at the Old Caloosa Lodge spotted him leaving a nearby residence dressed in women's clothing.

Authorities believe Kolotka stole the boat and was attempting to disappear.

He was apprehended and arrested on two outstanding warrants from Okeechobee County.

Additionally, Kolotka faces charges related to the stolen boat and a John Deere Gator believed to have been stolen as well.

Deputies also discovered a number of items at the scene suspected to be stolen from the area.

The Glades County Sheriff's Office is collaborating with the Seminole Police Department to identify these items and connect them to potential theft cases.
