The President of the University of Michigan has allegedly announced if students are not allowed back on campus, the Wolverines will not be playing football this season. Arch rival Ohio State has announced a 20-40% capacity at the Horseshoe will be likely (good luck figuring out who can come and who can't).That's just some of the dominoes waiting to fall in the next month or two as states, schools, and stakeholders make choices.
One thing is abundantly clear - the overreaction to COVID-19 continues as we inch closer to the football season.
The NFL? College? High school? Seriously...high school. What parent is NOT going to watch their kid play? We are so full into stupid right now I cannot fathom it. The glare of the political correctness is shining so brightly it seems the decision makers, most of them softies when it comes to the PC world, are really in a quandary. And I predict almost all of them will defer to the pressure.
At what point will we simply decide to allow people make a choice? If you feel good and want to come, come. If you don't watch it on TV. What is painfully clear is this...collectively, we have lost our mind and surrendered our adult card.
It's beginning to make me a little angry.
