New York Supreme Court Reduces Trump’s Bond in Civil Case By More Than Half

Former President Trump was supposed to post an outrageous $454 million bond today for his civil trial in New York but the New York Supreme Court decided to set a new deadline with a major bond reduction, making all the former president’s detractors lose their minds.

Donald Trump appeared on Monday in a New York City court regarding a new trial for an alleged hush money payment when he received word that the NY Supreme Court reduced his bond for the civil case to $175 million and extended the deadline.

The court decided that the former president must post a $175 million cash or bond within ten days for the civil fraud case which would stop the NY attorney general from seizing his New York assets.  The ruling also stayed the enforcement order from the case which would have kept Trump from applying for any loans in the state, denying his sons from operating businesses in New York as well as the co-defendants Allen Weisselberg and Jeffrey McConney “from serving in the financial control on any New York corporation or similar business entity…”

While his new trial was in recess, the former president addressed the press expressing his opinion that “Judge Engoron has done a terrible disservice to the state of New York.”

“What he’s done is terrible; businesses are fleeing,” he continued. “Businesses are fleeing and crime is flourishing all over the state and what he’s done is such a disservice and should never be allowed to happen again. New York state is being battered by his decision.”

He echoed the remarks posted to his Truth Social account which stated, “Judge Engoron has refused to obey the decision of the Appellate Division relative to the Statute of Limitations. This is a confrontation between a Judge and those that rule above him — A very bad situation in which to place New York State and the Rule of Law! Engoron has disrespected the Appellate Division and its very clear and precise ruling. He should be made to do so, and at the same time, release the GAG ORDER. This is the 5th time in this case that he has been overturned, a record.”

“His credibility, and that of [New York Attorney General] Letitia James, has been shattered,” the statement read. “We will abide by the decision of the Appellate Division, and post either a bond, equivalent securities, or cash. This also shows how ridiculous and outrageous Engoron’s original decision was at $450 Million. I DID NOTHING WRONG, AND NEW YORK SHOULD NEVER BE PUT IN A POSITION LIKE THIS AGAIN. BUSINESSES ARE FLEEING, VIOLENT CRIME IS FLOURISHING, AND IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THIS BE RESOLVED IN ITS TOTALITY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU!”
